FAQ

## Questions people actually ask.

Do I need a credit card to sign up for Free?

No. Free requires an account but not a card — and never converts to a paid plan automatically.

Is MCP available on the Free tier?

Yes. MCP is included on every plan, including Free. Connect Amass to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible tool — no paid plan required.

What counts as a report?

A report is a full research run: Amass works through your question across the cores and returns a written synthesis with its citations and its working trace. Chat and MCP calls draw on your included usage allowance instead — the app shows your balance as you go.

What's the difference between Basic, Standard, and Business?

Basic and Standard are both single-seat plans. Basic includes 5 reports and a larger chat + MCP allowance than Free. Standard removes the report limit under fair use and carries our largest single-seat allowance — it's the plan for people running Amass daily. Business is up to 10 seats sharing a workspace, one pooled allowance, and priority support. Above 10 seats we move to Enterprise.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at the next billing cycle. No contracts on Basic, Standard, or Business.

How does billing work for the Platform API?

The API is a separate product with usage-based pricing, billed monthly against your account. Same login, separate billing stream — so a Business subscription and an API subscription live side by side without double-charging.
