Amass is bringing its scientific intelligence infrastructure to Microsoft 365 Copilot, giving life science organizations a new way to access and work with specialized scientific knowledge directly within the Microsoft environment.
The integration combines Amass’ domain-specific scientific intelligence layer with Microsoft Copilot, enabling users to search, analyze and reason across complex life science information without moving between disconnected scientific databases, AI tools and workplace applications.
For life science organizations, Microsoft 365 already sits at the center of everyday knowledge work, across Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint. Microsoft Copilot creates a powerful AI layer across that environment.
Amass adds the specialized scientific intelligence underneath it.
Connecting Microsoft Copilot to the scientific knowledge layer
At the heart of Amass is their *Core architecture: a scientific intelligence infrastructure that structures and connects knowledge across the major domains of life science.
Rather than treating literature, patents, clinical trials, biological data as separate search destinations, Amass connects information across dedicated intelligence layers spanning genes and biology, drugs and therapeutic assets, scientific literature, clinical trials, patents, regulatory information and live external information, alongside an organization’s own proprietary knowledge.
This allows scientific questions to be understood across the relationships that matter: a gene to a target, a target to a drug, a drug to a clinical program, a clinical program to evidence, patents and regulatory events, with the underlying sources and provenance retained.
Through Microsoft Copilot integration, this intelligence becomes accessible directly from the environment where users already work.
A user can ask a scientific or strategic question in Copilot and draw on Amass’ specialized intelligence infrastructure to support workflows such as target and asset research, scientific landscape analysis, evidence review, clinical and competitive intelligence, patent analysis, regulatory research and monitoring of emerging scientific developments.
“Microsoft Copilot is creating an incredibly powerful environment for how AI becomes part of everyday work,” said Henrik Jensen, CEO and co-founder of Amass. “For life sciences, the next step is connecting that environment to the deeply specialized knowledge scientists actually need. Amass provides that scientific intelligence infrastructure. Bringing the two together means scientists can access connected knowledge across genes, drugs, trials, patents, literature, regulatory information and their own organizational data directly within the Microsoft environment where they already work.”
A model for specialized AI inside Microsoft 365
The integration points to a broader opportunity for Microsoft Copilot: combining a horizontal AI environment used across the enterprise with deeply specialized intelligence built for individual industries and professional domains.
This is particularly relevant in life sciences, where critical knowledge is fragmented across millions of scientific documents, databases, regulatory sources and internal organizational systems, and where provenance and the relationships between information are as important as finding the information itself.
By connecting specialized intelligence infrastructure such as Amass directly to Microsoft Copilot, those capabilities can become part of the user’s existing workflow rather than another destination they need to visit.
“Life science organizations are looking to bring AI into increasingly specialized workflows while enabling people to work within the tools they already use,” said Chantrelle Nielsen, Principal PM Manager, Microsoft. “Microsoft Copilot provides an extensible platform for partners to bring domain-specific capabilities into that experience. Amass is connecting its scientific intelligence capabilities with Microsoft Copilot exploring new ways AI can support scientists and life science teams.”
From scientific applications to scientific infrastructure
The Microsoft Copilot integration is part of a broader direction for Amass.
Amass is building an intelligence layer that can sit underneath the applications, agents and systems used across life sciences. Their scientific intelligence can be accessed through the Amass platform itself or embedded into other environments through APIs, connectors and its Core architecture.
This means organizations can bring the same underlying scientific intelligence into different workflows - whether a user is conducting deep research in Amass, interacting through Microsoft Copilot, working with internal organizational knowledge or using other scientific systems.
“We think this is the beginning of a much larger shift,” Jensen continued. “Scientists shouldn’t have to think about which database, application or AI contains the knowledge they need. The intelligence should be available in the context of the work they are doing. Microsoft has a footprint across life sciences and an increasingly connected AI environment across Microsoft 365. Combining that reach with specialized scientific intelligence opens up an enormous opportunity to rethink how scientific knowledge becomes available and embedded across an organization.”
The integration represents a broader vision for AI in life sciences: combining Microsoft enterprise AI ecosystem and global reach with specialized scientific intelligence that can move seamlessly across the workflows of scientists and life science organizations. Through collaborative efforts Amass and Microsoft demonstrate how deeply specialized industry intelligence can become a native part of everyday enterprise work.
About Amass
Amass is the scientific intelligence infrastructure for life sciences.
At its core is Amass’ proprietary *Core architecture, an interconnected intelligence system that structures and links the world’s life science knowledge across genes and biology, drugs and therapeutic assets, scientific literature, clinical trials, patents, regulatory intelligence, live information and an organization’s own proprietary data.
Instead of searching these sources in isolation, Amass enables scientists and life science organizations to reason across the relationships between them - turning fragmented scientific information into connected, actionable intelligence with source-level provenance and traceability.
Amass can be used as a standalone scientific intelligence platform or embedded directly into the applications, agents and enterprise environments where scientific work happens through APIs, connectors and dedicated *Cores.
One intelligence layer. Every scientific workflow.
Amass is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
