Introducing Planner: A New Way to Guide Your Research

We are excited to announce the soft launch of Planner, a powerful new feature designed to give you full control over how your research is conducted. Instead of simply providing an answer to your questions, Planner helps you build and refine a structured research plan, ensuring you get exactly the insights you need.

What is Planner?

Planner is an interactive workspace that bridges the gap between your initial question and the final research output. When you start a new plan by describing your goal or question, the system generates a comprehensive research strategy. This strategy is broken down into clear sections and topics, much like our existing templates, but with a layout optimized for easy overview and collaboration.

Key Features

The Planner interface is divided into two main areas to streamline your workflow:

The Instructor ChatLocated on the left side of the screen, the Instructor chat allows you to send natural language instructions to modify your plan. Whether you want to add a specific section, emphasize a certain topic, or include a conclusion with key takeaways, you can simply instruct the system, and it will update the plan accordingly. The AI also provides suggested next steps here, offering inspiration for how to expand or refine your research.The Plan PanelOn the right side, you will find the detailed plan itself. It comes pre-filled with suggestions on how to approach your question, organized into sections and topics. Each topic includes a description, specific questions to address, and suggested data sources. You have the full capability to expand these sections and manually edit any parameters, such as titles, questions, and data sources, giving you granular control over the research direction.Version Control and OutputsAs you make changes or run the plan, Planner keeps track of your progress. You can easily view the current output, review the data sources and context used, and even go back to previous versions of your plan. If you decide to add a new section after reviewing the initial output, the system will generate a new version of the plan, allowing you to iterate and improve your research seamlessly.

Beta Status and Upcoming Release

Planner is currently in a soft-launch beta phase. We are releasing it early to gather feedback and ensure it meets your needs for creating better, more controlled research. While it is already fully functional and ready to help you construct detailed research strategies, we are continuously refining the experience. A full, official release is coming soon, bringing even more enhancements to this powerful new tool.
